St. Patrick's Day Plate Date

Last Tuesday, the day before St. Patrick's Day, we had a special Spring Break play date at our house. We had such a fun time, had a good turn out, and the weather was perfect. The kids played, we cut and colored a little leprechaun and made a puppet out of him with paper bags, went hunting for "Lucky the Leprechaun", and then frosted green shamrock sugar cookies. It was a blast!

Frosting Cookies
I didn't get all of the kids in this photo, there were four more.
We had a total of 7 kids, 2 babies, and 5 moms!

The kids really had fun when we were trying to find Lucky. He left a trail of Lucky Charms everywhere he went, and you know how tricky Leprechaun's can be! He started in the kitchen, moved to the family room, went in Trista's room, and then Whitney's room. That sneaky little guy made a mess with her baby books, but left us shamrock cookies to decorate! Maybe we'll find him next year.

Here is a copy of the clues to find Lucky:
First Clue
I’m a little leprechaun dressed in green,
The tiniest man you've ever seen!
If you catch me, so it’s told,
I’ll give you my pot of gold.
I have a hunch; you’ll find me where they serve lunch!

Second Clue
Look up high! Look down low!
You’ll never catch me cause you’re too slow!
I’ve run off now to take a zoom
Under a table in the family room!

Third Clue
This chase for me has just begun,
I’m leading you on a merry run!
You won’t find me just hanging around
Get those feet back on the ground.
Look around! I bet you can’t catch me!
In Trista’s room is where I’ll be!
Fourth Clue
Boy that was close, you almost got me somehow!
But my pot of gold is safe for now!
I’ve one last place for you to look
I've caused lots of trouble with Whitney’s books!

Fifth Clue
You can run, and run as fast as you can,
You can’t catch me,
I’m the little green man!
Better luck next time!
The fifth letter was sitting on a plate full of green shamrock sugar cookies.
Thank you to everyone that came! It was a fun time.
